The performance does also benefit from the new exhaust thanks to the integrated interference pipe and reduced exhaust backpressure. It is also a feast for the eyes: The ABT exhaust comes with a quartet of 4-inch (102-mm) end pipes with real carbon fiber. To implement the exhaust into the original rear skirt ABT also supplies glossy black valance inserts.
Attractive alloy wheels are essential in creating a vehicle’s coherent aesthetic. The 23-inch ABT High Performance GR wheel in “glossy black” looks breathtaking, even on the massive SUV. All ABT high-performance wheels feature one-piece manufacturing and are up to 40% lighter than conventional cast wheels. Modern flowforming technology is used for creating the High Performance GR: Parts of the cast rim base are rolled out and compressed as part of an additional production stage, thus reducing the rim bed volume by up to 50 percent. This facilitates thinner wall thicknesses and thus a slim design with extreme stability. Furthermore, ABT offers a sporty touch for the exterior of the RS Q8 too: For example a rear spoiler and fender inserts made of carbon fiber emphasis the dynamic design of the vehicle perfectly.
Despite its 5,490 lbs. curb weight the Audi RS Q8 is no sluggish SUV but a fast and agile sports car. Powered by a 4.0-liter TFSI twin turbocharged V8 with 591 HP and 590 lb-ft of torque it even broke the lap record for SUVs on the Nürburgring Nordschleife last year. But that does not stop ABT from making the RS Q8 even faster! The ABT Engine Control (AEC) increases the performance of up to 690 HP and 649 lb-ft* and extensive testing on public roads and the dynamometer, a TÜV certification and numerous engine protection measures ensure reliability and everyday usability.
*The engine performance data is in accordance with the stipulations of EWG/80/1269. The process and dynamometer manufacturer have been certified and authorised by the vehicle manufacturer. For further details, visit www.abt-sportsline.com/performance-measurement.
