The prefix in the VW Arteon name says it all – "art"! And indeed, the design of the four-door coupé is much more ambitious than the practical, but rather austere VW Passat. From a performance perspective, however, the Arteon cannot set itself apart from its brand colleague. About time to change that! Therefore, we adapted our engine control unit AEC (ABT Engine Control) especially for the Arteon, raising the 2-liter top gasoline engine to 335 hp (246 kW). The maximum torque is increased from 400 to 440 Nm. "That is an increase of a solid 20 per cent for both figures," CEO Hans-Jürgen Abt explains. "And that with absolute steadiness and an unchanged long service life."
But even the 2.0 TSI with 272 hp (200 kW), the 2,0 TDI with 190 hp (140 kW) and the 2,0 TDI with 240 hp (176 kW) do not run out of steam. The petrol engine increases to 320 hp (235 kW) and 390 Nm thanks to the ABT auxiliary control unit, while the diesel engines come up with 220 hp (162 kW) and 440 Nm as well as 270 hp (199 kW) and 540 Nm after the performance cure.
